RENOVATION PROJECT - N Yorks

This conversion and renovation project was for clients who have a glorious farm near Castle Howard and had plans drawn up for the conversion of a range of barns and outbuildings on the estate.

John & Gilly asked us to work with them on the lighting and audio visual scheme as well as creating a stylish interior as they were planning to use the property for a very high end holiday let.

The project was exciting as the building had many interesting original architectural features with large beams and mellow brickwork.

A large open plan area was to be used for a Kitchen and Snug, and they panicked when they found that the space was to have a large structural beam right in the midddle.

We came up with a creative solution for this, as can be seen from our presentation concept visuals, where we encased this beam in false boxing in to create a small dividing wall which allowed the impressive centre island to run into it on one side with feature display niche,

which also allowed a recess on the other side for a plasma television.

We used warm yet light cream hand painted units combined with curved walnut feature ends to the island and a curved section to the sink run to act as the cooking area.

We worked on the interior design scheme with comfortable, cosy furniture in warm shades for the fabrics to create a country look, punctuated with contemporary pieces to create an elegant and stylish look.

We are especially pleased with the master bedroom ensuite, with its glass wall, feature mirror wall cladding and led lighting.
