Our clients had relocated to York and had been
looking for a town house to create a family
home. They fell in love with this Georgian
property, which was in a dreadful state, having
been previous run as a guest house, with 1970s
decor.
There was only one existing door, very little original joinery and this wonderful
arched window had been blocked up.
We drew up a set of architectural plans
for the reconfiguration of the existing
spaces, working closely with the Conservation Officer as to what would be permissible. Everything was in place ready to start the work on the day the permission was obtained.
Being appointed to Project Manage this project, we had every schedule in place for the flow of work and materials and given the enormity of the project, we completed the work from start to finish in 12 weeks, ready for them to move in.
We had reproduced 3 types of architrave, dado rail and picture rail. Reproduced cornicing and restoration of decorative plasterwork.
The finished house is stunning, with finishes that complement the period of the building, yet adding contemporary fittings and surfaces for modern living.
Our clients are delighted.
