PENTHOUSE - Yorkshire
These clients had a large country house and wanted a town apartment for occasional use during the week. It was a new build apartment in the centre of York in a sought after area in a mature setting.
These clients had a large country house and wanted a town apartment for occasional use during the week. It was a new build apartment in the centre of York in a sought after area in a mature setting.
The brief from these clients was to create a
stylish contemporary yet cosy home from home
for them,
with lots of seating and to use accents of their favourite colours of mauves and burgundy.
We designed a huge L-shaped sofa in ivory hide and linen and chenille fabric with lots of scatter cushions with contrast edgings.
The large coffee and dining table were in glass which created the contemporary look, and we also used coloured glass for the wall panels, which were bespoke by a glass artist, with motifs picking up the detail in the sofa fabric and using the accent colours of mauve and burgundy.

It was crucial for these clients
to be able to leave the entire
managing and running of the
project to us, as no other
work was being done in the
property, meaning that they
would be able to have a
hands off approach, and
simply enjoy the final result.
We were involved from the design process, through the processing and scheduling of
the orders through to the installation of the furniture and soft-furnishings, leaving the
apartment complete and ready for them to enjoy.
The 4.500 meter L-shaped sofa was the
main element in the open plan Sitting
Room, with the ivory hide body looking
impressive from all angles. A low
large footstool allowed for more seating
and could be pushed away when not
needed.
The aspect of the Sitting Room overlooked a balcony terrace with large angled full-height patio doors, we selected Silent Gliss panel blinds in mushroom suede with alternate faux ostriche which looked stunning when closed at night.
The high backed dining chairs and matching bar stools bought punctuations of colour and looked opulent with the rich Andrew Martin chenille fabrics.
An interesting feature was created by using art glass and shelving within a recessed window in the kitchen for form a bar area, with wine cooler.
