MAJOR WORKS - Sussex
This spectacular total building refurbishment and conversion of a Grade 1 listed building is testament to Gaynor who designed and carried out the work, which was her home at that time.
The massive empty space, as can been seen on the right was converted by use of building a house within a house, over 4 floors and a new basement gymnasium area, complete with 12 seater jacuzzi.
The project was a massive undertaking, and apart from the new oak timbers which formed the framework of the new floors, the architectural features were found from reclaim sources; the sweeping staircase was originally from a Bishop's Palace and the massive marble columns that are featured in the Library were originally the front of a bank in Yorkshire.
The Banqueting Suite on the top floor with its marvellous vaulted ceiling is breath-taking...

The drawings on the right and the picture of the finished Winter Garden Atrium show the extent of the project, with the new internal walls with feature double heightwindow, rising the full extent of the building.
